Painting as a ritual seems like one of the last human rituals in the immediate nature. Painting with my hands is an act of awakening a primal power, an intuition, an instinct that connects me to the earth. In the massive chaos and destruction of the planet, the act of connecting with the earth and cosmic forces becomes an elemental necessity that permeates the artistic ritual to its deepest foundations. The depiction of elements such as water, fire, air and earth is associated with the attraction of light to the pictorial surface.”
